Valley Fiber Arts represents a group of more than 300 Fiber Artists, members of 3 large non-profit guilds, who come together to quilt, sew, knit, embroider and appliqué for the joy of working with fabric and the fun of sharing with like minded enthusiasts. The guilds produce lectures and workshops to promote their skills and share their efforts within their communities. The guilds are responsive to fulfilling many needs by request, such as completing quilts for victims of the 2018 wildfires and floods and creating beautiful quilted work for our veterans. Along with these donations, the members consistently support charities dealing primarily with at-risk women and children.
The Valley Fiber Arts Auction is a fundraising event that supports the activities of three local non-profits: The Valley Quiltmakers Guild, The Simi Valley Quilt Guild and The San Fernando Valley Quilt Association. These 3 organizations represent more than 300 fiber artists who design, quilt,
appliqué and create. Much of their work supports local charities in these valley communities. The auction and associated “Quilting in the Valley Quilt Show” is a biennial local event that attracts more than 1,000 attendees from San Fernando Valley and Simi Valley.
