About Jill Schumacher

National Award winning machine quilter, teacher and author,  Jill has quilted more than 570 quilts over the past 21 years for both herself and customers and has won numerous awards including national awards at American Quilters Society in Paducah, KY, as well as Best Machine Quilting awards at National Quilters Association and Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, CA. One of Jill’s award winning quilts was featured in Great American Quilts book 11 and the AQS 2003 calendar. Jill’s Flower Girl Memoriesquilt also traveled to Japan with all of the AQS winners from 2001 and was displayed at their Japan Quilt Expo. Jill self-published her first book, How Do I Quilt That Design, Vol. 1, in 2010 and has her second machine quilting book, Jill’s Little Booklet For Machine Quilting. She just finished her third book that is a companion book to her Fifty Shades of Background Stitches workshop. Jill now specializes in her 3, 4 and 5-day workshops held all over the country but still offers her popular Introduction to Machine Quilting class.

Jill loves empowering students and shows them the easy way to gain confidence and build their skills so that they too will enjoy creating their own heirlooms and masterpieces. “It gives me great joy to empower my students and introduce them to the world of machine quilting. I get a thrill out of watching their faces light up when they complete their first feathered wreath”.

Jill’s Motto: “Learning to machine quilt is as easy as learning to ride a bicycle.”
